Full Definition
Head stability is not the same as keeping the head completely still. The head should remain in approximately the same position from address to impact — minor lateral movement (within shoulder width) is acceptable and natural. After impact, the head is naturally pulled upward by the follow-through rotation. Excessive head movement: lateral sway (head moves more than 10 percent of shoulder width toward the target or away), vertical bobbing (head rises or drops significantly), and early pull (head lifts up to watch the shot before impact). GOATY head stability is a dedicated gate (G2 in the GOAT Drill) that measures lateral and vertical head position continuously through the swing and flags excessive movement in real time.
